Crisp Garlic Green Beans

Published on February 4th, 2009 by Alix

Crisp Garlic Green Beans Cook Time: 30-40 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 Tbsp Garlic, Minced
  • Pinch of Crushed Red Pepper
  • 3 Generous Hand Fulls of Green Beans

Directions:

  1. Pour olive oil into large frying pan over low-medium heat.
  2. Add the green beans to the pan (make sure if you use fresh green beans you cut the ends off)
  3. Cook the green beans for approximately 10-15 minutes before adding the first tablespoon of garlic. Stir and allow to cook down for another 5. The garlic will get brown but with stirring should not burn.
  4. Add the second tablespoon of garlic and the crushed red pepper. Allow to cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Finally add the last tablespoon of garlic and allow to cook until they are as crispy as you want them. Some prefer brown and crispy, I like varying degrees for texture. The ones in the center cook fastest and will be browner than the others if you choose to stir less.
  6. Serve hot as a side or as a filling but light lunch.
