Crisp Garlic Green Beans
Published on February 4th, 2009 by Alix
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 Tbsp Garlic, Minced
- Pinch of Crushed Red Pepper
- 3 Generous Hand Fulls of Green Beans
Directions:
- Pour olive oil into large frying pan over low-medium heat.
- Add the green beans to the pan (make sure if you use fresh green beans you cut the ends off)
- Cook the green beans for approximately 10-15 minutes before adding the first tablespoon of garlic. Stir and allow to cook down for another 5. The garlic will get brown but with stirring should not burn.
- Add the second tablespoon of garlic and the crushed red pepper. Allow to cook for another 5 minutes.
- Finally add the last tablespoon of garlic and allow to cook until they are as crispy as you want them. Some prefer brown and crispy, I like varying degrees for texture. The ones in the center cook fastest and will be browner than the others if you choose to stir less.
- Serve hot as a side or as a filling but light lunch.
